A memorial dedicated to the memory of Keith Alexander
This is a tribue to Keith Alexander. Keith Alexander was a football manager and former player. Born in Nottingham, England, he was the manager of League Two side Macclesfield Town at the time of his death, in a career that included international appearances for St. Lucia. Alexander played for a whole host of lower league football teams. His main success, however, came from football management - managing in both non-league and the Football League. He was the first full-time black professional manager in the football league, and is considered by many to be a pioneer of the modern game.

Keith Alexander passed away on the 3rd March 2010. Tributes were paid to Keith Alexander from all corners of the country following his untimely death. Macclesfield Town chairman, Mike Rance, paid an emotional tribute to Keith Alexander, stating "it was perhaps fitting that the last conversation we had was about football". Lincoln City, the club that Keith Alexander lead to four successive play-off campaigns, opened their stadium to allow fans to pay tribute to Keith Alexander. Burnley manager Brian Laws said the former Lincoln boss "broke the mould" for black managers. A sentiment echoed by Port Vale boss, Micky Adams. Paul Ince, a friend of Keith Alexander, described Keith Alexander as "a figure that all managers should aspire to".

This is a memorial dedicated to the life and career of Keith Alexander. May he rest in peace.
