A memorial dedicated to the memory of Steven Boote
Corporal Steven Boote, aged 22 years, of the Royal Military Police was one of 5 soldiers killed by a rogue Afghan policeman in Helmand Province on 3rd November, 2009. Of his other four colleagues who were killed one was also a member of the Royal Military Police and the other three were members of the Grenadier Guards. Six other soldiers were wounded in the incident.
Corporal Boote worked as a security guard for Tescos in Birkenhead but joined the Territorial Army 3 years ago and then became attached to the Royal Military Police. He was the only child of Anthony and Margaret Boote. His parents and his girlfriend, Emma Murray, are grief stricken by his loss.
